Buying from a local farm is a little different than buying meat at the grocery store — but we’ll make it easy. Whether you’re ordering a smaller beef box or reserving a quarter, half, or whole beef, this page explains what to expect, what you’ll pay, and how pickup or delivery works.
How It Works
OPTION ONE: BEEF BOXES
Best for: Customers who want to try C6 Beef without committing to a quarter, half, or whole animal.
How it works:
Beef boxes are sold at a fixed price. You purchase the box directly from C6 Farms, and we coordinate local pickup or delivery depending on your location and availability.
Current box options:
1/16 Beef Box — $244
1/8 Beef Box — $488
TWO WAYS TO BUY
OPTION TWO: BULK BEEF RESERVATIONS
Best for: Families wanting to stock their freezer and get the best value per pound.
How it works:
You reserve a quarter, half, or whole beef with a deposit. C6 Farms raises the animal and delivers it to the processor. The customer pays C6 Farms for the beef and pays the processor separately for cutting, wrapping, and processing.
-
Quarter Beef
Best for smaller households or first-time bulk beef customers.
Half Beef
Best for families who cook beef regularly and have freezer space.
Whole Beef
Best value for large families, shared family orders, or customers wanting the most freezer beef.
-
Your deposit reserves your beef. The deposit is applied toward the amount paid to C6 Farms. Final pricing depends on animal size, hanging weight, processor fees, and take-home yield.
Deposits are non-refundable once processing is scheduled, because your animal and processor spot are being reserved specifically for you.
-
C6 Farms coordinates delivery of the animal to the processor. Processing is handled by the processor, and processing fees are paid directly to them by the customer.
-
For bulk beef orders, you’ll complete a cut sheet with the help of Mr. Jim. This is where you choose how thick you want steaks, how much ground beef you want per pack, what roasts you want, and other preferences.
-
Bulk beef payments are split into two parts:
Paid to C6 Farms: the beef itself
Paid to the processor: processing, cutting, wrapping, and related feesWe provide estimated totals before you reserve, but final totals vary based on animal size and processing choices.
-
Once processing is complete, we’ll coordinate pickup or local delivery options based on your order type and location.
-
Bulk beef pricing is based on real animal weights, processor fees, and take-home yield. Because every animal is different, final totals may vary. We provide estimates so customers understand the expected all-in cost before placing a deposit.
For bulk beef, the estimated all-in cost includes both the amount paid to C6 Farms and the amount paid directly to the processor.

FAQ
-
Both. For quarter, half, and whole beef orders, you pay C6 Farms for the beef and pay the processor separately for processing. Beef boxes are purchased directly from C6 Farms at a fixed price.
-
Take-home weight is the approximate amount of packaged beef you receive after processing. It is less than live weight and hanging weight because bones, trim, moisture loss, and processing choices affect the final packaged weight.
-
Yes. A quarter, half, or whole beef requires freezer space. If you do not have a freezer yet, we recommend starting with a 1/16 or 1/8 beef box.

Our cattle are pasture-raised and grain-finished. This allows the animals to spend their lives on pasture while also producing the marbling and flavor many customers expect from premium beef.

Our animals are raised without added hormones or antibiotics.
